STATE POLICE AND FIRE MARSHAL INVESTIGATE FATAL FIRE

   On 02/20/13, at approx. 7:05 a.m., State Police at Troop D received a report of a fire at 500 Riverside Drive in Thompson, with a request that the State Fire Marshal and State Police assist with an apartment fire with entrapment.

   Troopers determined that the fire service responded to the scene and after suppression of the fire, firefighters located an elderly female in the apartment.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.

   The apartment, #B-5, is located at the Thompson housing complex. The area was secured and the Local Fire Marshal, working with Troopers from the State Fire Marshal’s Office, initiated an investigation.

   The deceased has been identified ANITA JARVAIS, age 92, 500 Riverside Drive, Thompson CT.
