STATE POLICE LOCATE TWO YORK CORRECTIONAL ESCAPEES
On 1/5/13, at approximately 9:36 p.m,. State Police at Troop E in Montville were contacted by staff members at York Correctional Facility located in East Lyme. Correctional Officials reported that two inmates were missing from the facility and had escaped from custody. The inmates were reported to be missing since approximately 8:30 p.m. After a check of the correctional facility, Department of Corrections staff contacted State Police at Troop E.
Multiple Troopers were sent to the area, including State Police K-9 teams. All area police agencies were notified of the escape. This case remained under active continuous investigation by Connecticut State Police with assistance of local police and parole officers.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on 1/06/13, information was developed by investigators of a possible location of the two escapees, referencing a location in Hartford. Troopers, Hartford Police Officers, and Parole Officers went to the suspected location in Hartford and located both escapees. They were taken into custody without incident.
Both accused were transported to State Police at Troop E in Montville, where they were processed and formally charged with escape from custody.
Each accused is being held on $500,000 bond at York Correctional Facility and they will appear in Superior Court GA#10 New London to answer the charges.

Melissa Riley has a record and is incarcerated for larceny and possession of narcotics charges. Jessica Rivera has robbery charges, burglary and a previous escape.
