STATE POLICE EASTERN DISTRICT MAJOR CRIME SQUAD
MAKES ARREST IN BOZRAH HOMICIDE
On September 25, 2012, at 6:51 a.m., Trooper from Troop K responded to a ball field located at 59 Bozrah Street in Bozrah, and found a deceased male. The victim was deceased from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the head.
The Eastern District Major Crime Squad was notified and conducted an investigation into the murder. The victim was identified as Darius Bishop, D.O.B. 1-20-1984 of Norwich. An autopsy conducted at the Office of The Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide by gunshot wound to the head.
On December 7, 2012, after an extensive investigation, Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad applied for an arrest warrant charging Dequan McKethan, D.O.B.: 12/16/77, of 61 Summit Street, Norwich with murder in the death of Darius Bishop.
On December 10, 2012, at 10:06 a.m., Dequan McKethan, who is currently incarcerated on other charges, was arrested and processed by EDMCS detectives at the Norwich District Court and held on a $1,000,000 court set bond pending arraignment on this date.
