STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE ANIMAL CRUELTY
On Thursday, November 8, 2012, at approximately 3 pm, Connecitcut State Police Troop L personnel executed a Superior Court ordered search and seizure warrant for Cruelty to Animals in violation of Connecticut General Statutes 53-247 at 310 Watertown Rd in Morris, Connecticut, the property to be searched was also located in the town of Bethlehem, CT. A large barn on the property containing approximately sixty (60) crated dogs of various sizes and breeds was searched. The domestic animals were found to be in various states of health and the living conditions were deemed inadequate. The animals were seized and transported to area shelters and kennels for treatment.
This investigation is being conducted by Trooper Eagleston #846, assisted by the Town of Bethlehem Animal Control Officer and further assisted by the State of Connecticut Animal Control Officer, as well as Animal Control Officers from the towns of East Haven, North Haven, Watertown, Oxford and Naugatuck and a local licensed veterinarian.
This investigation is ongoing. NO arrests have been made yet.
These involved animals are currently NOT up for adoption at this time.
