STATE POLICE RELEASE SKETCH OF SUSPECT IN NEW FAIRFIELD BURGLARY AND ASSAULT
On September 25, 2012, at approximately 10:15 a.m., the New Fairfield Resident State Trooper’s Office received a 911 call from a victim reporting an interrupted residential burglary and assault at a home on Newfane Road in New Fairfield. Troopers and local Officers responded to the scene.
An initial investigation determined that an adult female had entered the residence and was confronted and assaulted by a lone male suspect who was believed to have already been inside the residence. After the assault, the suspect fled from the house in an unknown direction and manner of travel. The victim was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of her injuries as a search of the area for the suspect was conducted.
Troopers used K-9 teams and manpower to search for the suspect, who ultimately was not located. The State Police Western District Major Crime Detectives responded to the scene to conduct the criminal investigation. State Police Detectives processed the scene and recovered both physical and forensic evidence.
The suspect is described by the victim as follows: black male, medium complexion with no facial hair, brown eyes, approximately 30 years old, 5’9” to 6’0” tall, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, low rider blue jeans and black sneakers. State Police obtained information form the victim to compose the sketch attached of the suspect. See below.
The State Police investigation is continuing. Detectives believe that the suspect was seen walking around the area about one week prior to this burglary and assault.
Troopers are asking anyone who may have noticed any individual or anything suspicious in nature in the Newfane Road area of New Fairfield or the surrounding area to contact the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Detectives at (203) 696-2569 or the New Fairfield Resident State Trooper’s Office at (203) 312-5701.
