STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE LARCENY


State Police Troop A in Southbury was notified shortly before 7:00 a.m. today 09/27/12 that as employees were arriving for work at Classic Coach they observed two suspects stealing items from the property and fleeing from the property.  It was further reported that the two suspects had gotten into a red pickup truck and fled from the scene.  The Classic Coach workers followed the suspect pickup vehicle and called police to report this incident. The suspects fled westbound on Route 188 towards Oxford.

All surrounding police agencies and Resident Troopers were advised of the theft and the description of the suspect vehicle. The two suspects traveled a short distance from the crime scene and in Oxford they suddenly abandoned the truck on Great Hill Road and Route 67 (Lutheran Church parking lot) and both suspects fled on foot. 

Resident State Troopers and officers responded to this location. A Seymour K9 Officer responded to the  scene and tracked from the driver’s seat of the suspect’s pickup truck to the Oxford water pump station house, where accused John POLAKOWSKI, DOB 05/10/92 of 206 Edin Avenue in Waterbury was found hiding.  This suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Additional State Police K9 Troopers responded to set up additional tracks and searched a large, heavily wooded/vegetation area for the second suspect without success. 

Investigation revealed the identification of the second suspect in this larceny who fled from the suspect vehicle. He is identified as Wayne Conroy and he is being sought by Troopers as Wayne CONROY, DOB 09/09/69 of Naugatuck has multiple active warrants on file for his arrest. 

Accused  JOHN POLAKOWSKI was processed and charged with larceny, interfering with police and numerous motor vehicle violations.  Accused POLAKOWSKI was processed, held on bond, and He was transported to Superior Court GA# 4 Waterbury for arraignment. 

This criminal investigation is continuing.
