UPDATE - STATE POLICE MAKE ARREST IN NORTH GROSVENORDALE ROBBERY
On September 14, 2012, at about 11:30 p.m., Troop D received a 911 call from the clerk on duty at the Cumberland Farms Convenience Store, 854 Riverside Drive, in North Grosvenordale, reporting that the store was just robbed. Troopers from Troop D responded to secure the scene. A K-9 search was conducted in the area. Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad were called to the scene to assume the investigation and process the scene.
Troopers learned that at 11:20 p.m., the clerk was behind the counter when a subject wearing a brown jacket with hood pulled up, blue jeans, sneakers and a white cloth over his or her face entered the store and approached the counter. The subject presented a note indicating he or she had a gun and demanded money and cigarettes. Cash and cigarettes were handed over to the suspect, who then fled from the store. No one was injured and no other people were in the store at the time.
The suspect is described as being young, about 5’5” tall, regular build, wearing a brown hooded jacket, blue jeans, sneakers and a cloth over his or her face.
As a result of the investigation, State Police Detectives obtained an arrest warrant on September 25, 2012, for the arrest of Sarah D. Brown, 23, of 19 Market St., Apt. 1, North Grosvenordale, for committing the robbery.
On September 26, 2012, at 9:15 a.m., Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad assigned to Troop D arrested Sarah Brown at her residence. She was taken to Troop D where she was processed on the charges of Robbery 1St Degree, Larceny 6th Degree, and False Statement 2nd Degree. She was presented in Danielson Superior Court with a set bond of $10,000.00 cash or surety. No more arrests are expected.
