STATE POLICE MAKE ARREST IN EMBEZZLEMENT CASE

On Tuesday, September 10, 2012, the Connecticut State Police initiated a criminal investigation into a reported embezzlement within the Connecticut Community Credit Union located at 350 Trolley-Line Blvd., Mashantucket, Connecticut.

The allegations were first reported by Credit Union Officials after discovering suspicious activity during a bank audit in which an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was discovered missing from the bank vault.

Subsequently, Detectives assigned to the State Police Casino Unit initiated a criminal investigation into the reported allegations.  An internal audit was completed and as a result of the investigation, Detectives identified a suspect responsible for the missing funds.  An arrest warrant application was submitted to the New London County State Attorney’s Office for review and arrest authorization was granted.

On Tuesday September 25, 2012, at 8:00 am, State Police Detectives arrested Yolanda T. O’Keefe, Age 62, of 55 North Cliff Street, Norwich.  O’Keefe was charged with Larceny in the First Degree (53a-122).  O’Keefe was processed without incident and subsequently arraigned at GA-10, New London Superior Court in New London.
