STATE POLICE MAKE ARREST IN SOUTHBURY ROBBERY
On 09/02/12, at approximately 12:24 a.m., State Police at Troop A received a 911 call from the manager of the Southbury McDonald’s located 100 Main Street North. The manager reported that he and the employees were robbed at gun point by two masked men.
Troopers and Southbury Officers responded to the scene and began a search of the area. State Police K-9 teams responded to participate in the search for the suspects. The crime scene was secured and State Police Detectives responded to process the crime scene and conduct this investigation. State Police Detectives conducted several interviews of victims and witnesses.
Detectives developed information and leads that led Troopers to submitt an arrest warrant affidavit for the arrest of suspects in this case
On 09/21/12 at approximately 6:45 a.m., the juvenile accused was arrested and charged with a host of criminal charges. The accused was arraigned at Juvenile Court where the case will then be transferred to Adult Court. He is being held on a $500,000 court-set bond.
Today, 9/21/12, at approximately 2:15p.m., State Police executed an arrest warrant for this accused who is the Southbury McDonald’s Manager who conspired in this armed robbery.
ACCUSED: ANGEL MEDINA, DOB 01/17/91, of 228 Wood Street in Waterbury, was taken into custody and arrested by State Police Detectives. He was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 1st Degree (53a-48/53a-134), Conspiracy to Commit Burglary 1st Degree (53a-48/53a-101), Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 2nd Degree (53a-48/53a-123), Larceny 2nd Degree (53a-123), Criminal Liability for Robbery 1st Degree (53a-8/53a-134) and Criminal Liability for Burglary 1st Degree (53a-8/53a-101).
Accused MEDINA is being held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at GA#4 in Waterbury on 09/24/12.
