On September 14, 2012, at about 11:30 p.m., State Police at Troop D received a 911 call from the clerk on duty at the Cumberland Farms Convenience Store, 854 Riverside Drive, North Grosvenordale, CT, reporting that the store was just robbed.

Troopers from Troop D responded to the scene and secured it. A State Police K-9 search was conducted in the area. Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad were called to the scene to conduct the investigation and process the crime scene.

Investigators learned was that at about 11:20 p.m., the clerk was behind the counter when a subject wearing a brown jacket with hood pulled up, blue jeans, sneakers and a white cloth over his or her face entered the store and approached the counter.  The subject presented a note indicating they had a gun and demanded money and cigarettes. Cash and cigarettes were handed over to the suspect, who then fled from the store. No one was injured and no other people were in the store at the time.

The suspect is described as being young, about 55 tall, regular build, wearing a brown hooded jacket, blue jeans, sneakers and a cloth over their face.
