** UPDATE **
STATE POLICE IDENTIFY VICTIMS OF GRISWOLD FATAL FIRE
 

   On August 28, 2012, at 4:13 a.m., the Griswold Fire Department received 911 calls reporting a structure fire.  Griswold Firefighters responded to the structure fire at a single-family residence located at 39 Tatro Road in Griswold.

   Upon arrival, firefighters encountered the single family home fully involved in flames.  Firefighters suppressed the fire and located two deceased victims within the residence.  

   The scene was secured and State Police Troopers assigned to the State Police Fire Investigation and Enforcement Unit responded to work with State Police Major Crime Detectives and the local Fire Marshal to investigate this fire.

   Fire Investigators are interviewing witnesses and examining the fire scene for physical and forensic evidence.

   The two deceased will be transported to the Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner, where a postmortem examination will take place to determine the manner and cause of death and also to establish positive identification.

   ** UPDATE **

   The two deceased have been identified as Wayne F. Guyette, DOB:  08/30/1947, and Linda J. Guyette, DOB: 11/22/1949.

   The investigation is continuing.
