STATE POLICE MAKE CHILD PORN ARREST

 

Arrested:  Carucci, Joseph   D.O.B. 03/30/40

                252 Terryville Road

                Bristol, CT

 

Charges:       Promoting a Minor in an Obscene Performance, 53a-196b Possession of Child Pornography First Degree, 53a-196d, Obscenity, 53a-194

 

   In September of 2011, the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit began an investigation into the sharing of child pornography via the Internet. The Internet activity was traced back to a residence located at 252 Terryville Road, Bristol. 

 

   On December 6, 2011, the Computer Crimes Unit and the Bristol Police Department executed a search and seizure warrant at 252 Terryville Road, Bristol.  The suspect in the investigation was identified as Joseph Carucci, D.O.B. 03/30/40. Several items of evidentiary value were seized during the search of the residence.  The seized property was examined and numerous files of suspected child pornography were located. These files consisted of image files and video files.  An arrest warrant application was submitted to Superior Court for the arrest of the accused. The warrant was issued by the court.

 

   On 07/16/12, the accused, Joseph Carucci, turned himself in to State Police at Troop H in Hartford on an outstanding arrest warrant.  Accused Carucci was charged with Promoting a Minor in an Obscene Performance in violation of section 53a-196b, Possession of Child Pornography in the First Degree in violation of section 53a-196d, and Obscenity in violation of section 53a-194 of the Connecticut General Statutes.

 

   Accused Carucci was released after posting a $10,000 bond and was given a court date of 07/30/12 at GA 17 in Bristol, CT.
