The following information is available concerning the use of solid waste in a manufacturing process to make a product or as an effective substitute for materials used in a commercial product.  

Beneficial Use General Permits

• General Permit for Storage and Processing of Asphalt Roofing Shingle Waste (ARSW) and/or for the Storage and Distribution of Ground Asphalt Aggregate (GAA) for Beneficial Use  Issued 05/31/06

• General Permit for Storage and Processing of Scrap Tires for Beneficial Use - allows for the storage of both unprocessed and processed scrap tires and the mechanical processing of scrap tires for beneficial use applications. Issued 09/30/05

• General Permit for Storage and Distribution of Two (2) Inch Nominal Tire Chip Aggregate for Beneficial Use in Leaching Systems in Subsurface Sewage Disposal Systems - allows for the storage, distribution and beneficial use of two (2) inch nominal tire chip aggregate as an approved aggregate in leaching systems in subsurface sewage disposal systems. (Approved aggregate must meet the specifications to be developed and identified in the Department of Public Health's (DPH) Technical Standards for Subsurface Sewage Disposal Systems. In addition, the local director of health must issue a permit to discharge for such subsurface sewage disposal system.) Issued 09/30/05
