Since the formation in 1862 of the Seventeenth CT Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War, Connecticut has had a long history of volunteerism to help provide security, safety and shelter for it's citizens and visitors.
Governor M. Jodi Rell announced that federal disaster loans are available to agricultural cooperatives, small businesses and private non-profit groups in Fairfield and Litchfield counties that suffered losses from frost and freezing weather this past spring.
