Notice of Reissuance without Modifications
General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater Associated with Industrial Activity
Pursuant to section 22a-430b of the Connecticut General Statutes (CGS), the Commissioner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (“DEEP”) hereby provides notice of the reissuance without modifications of the General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater Associated with Industrial Activity (industrial general permit).
This general permit authorizes discharges from certain industrial activities based on the facility’s Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code. The general permit requires registration by the facility, development and implementation of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and stormwater discharge monitoring.
The current industrial general permit expires on September 30, 2019. A Notice of Tentative Decision to reissue the current general permit without modifications was published in six newspapers statewide on August 19 and August 23, 2019. No comments were received within the 30-day public comment period. This general permit without modifications is reissued for the period from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2021.
No re-registration is required for this reissuance without modifications. The general permit’s outfall monitoring program will continue in effect during this reissuance period, including any sampling exemptions already obtained through the benchmark monitoring provisions of the general permit. Additional aquatic toxicity monitoring is also not required during this reissuance period. This general permit is available on the DEEP stormwater website at www.ct.gov/deep/stormwater
