Special Guests
Alex Wetherell
Alex, a native of Middletown, Connecticut, has been fishing his entire life. After winning the Junior Bassmaster World Championship when he was just 17, Alex then set his sights on becoming a professional bass fisherman. In 2015, Alex moved closer to that goal when he won the Old Milwaukee B.A.S.S. Eastern Divisional hosted on the Connecticut River at only 22. This qualified him for the B.A.S.S. National Championship in Louisiana. In 2016, Alex won the TBF State Championship, qualified for and won the TBF Semi-National, and qualified for the National Championship on Table Rock Lake in Missouri.

"Del" DelMastro
Del started bowhunting small game animals, using a recurve bow, at the age of 15. He switched to a compound bow in the 1970s and continued hunting the woods of Connecticut. In the early 1990s, he became one of Connecticut’s first Pro-Staff sponsored bowhunters, and is currently a pro-staffer with Cabela’s. He has hunted internationally for various species of wildlife and is a senior member of the Pope and Young Club. Del is also Senior Archery instructor for the Wildlife Division's Conservation Education/Firearms Safety Program.

Why We Are Celebrating
Hunters and anglers have been at the forefront of the conservation movement for over 100 years. They showed their support by requesting taxes and special fees on hunting and fishing equipment to help pay for wildlife and fish management, habitat restoration, and other conservation programs through the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration (WSFR) Program.
