2014 STATE PARK CAMPING AREAS
 
BLACK ROCK STATE PARK
Black Rock Campground is open for the 2014 season from April 18 through May 22 (weekends only) and May 23 through August 31 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed September 1 - September 29.
DEVIL'S HOPYARD STATE PARK
Devil's Hopyard Campground is open for the 2014 season from April 18 through August 31 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed  September 1 - September 29.
HAMMONASSET BEACH STATE PARK 
The Hammonasset Beach Campground is open for the 2014 season from May 23 through October 13 (daily). Reservations are available for periods of stay from Memorial Day weekend May 23 through October 13. Walk-ins only from May 16-May 22.
HOPEVILLE POND STATE PARK
Hopeville Pond Campground is open for the 2014 season from May 23 through August 31 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed April 18 - May 22 and September 1 - September 29.

HOUSATONIC MEADOWS STATE PARK
The Housatonic Meadows Campground is open for the 2014 season from May 16 - May 17, then reopening May 23 through August 31. Walk-ins only allowed September 1 - October 12.

KETTLETOWN STATE PARK
Kettletown Campground is open for the 2014 season on May 16, closing at noon on May 18,  then reopening May 23 through August 31 (daily).  Walk-ins only allowed September 1 - Sept 29.

LAKE WARAMAUG STATE PARK
Lake Waramaug Campground is open for the season from May 23- August 31  (daily). Walk-ins only allowed  September 1 - September 29. It will be open the weekend of Friday, May 16 and will close at noon on May 18.
MACEDONIA BROOK STATE PARK
Macedonia Brook Campground is open for the 2014 season from April 18 through August 31 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed September 1 - September 29.
  • 159 Macedonia Brook Road, Kent
  • 51 sites in rustic setting. Stream fishing, excellent hiking, no swimming. No pets. Reservations accepted April 20 through Labor Day.
  • Alcohol-free campground.  Please do not bring alcoholic beverages.
  • $14/night/campsite for CT residents plus a Processing Fee

MASHAMOQUET BROOK STATE PARK
The Mashamoquet Brook Campgrounds are open for the 2014 season from May 23 through August 31 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed April 18 - May 22 and September 1 - September 29.
ROCKY NECK STATE PARK
Rocky Neck Campground is open for the 2014 season from May 23 through August 31 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed May 2 - May 22 and September 1 - September 29.
SALT ROCK CAMPGROUND
The Salt Rock Campground is open for the 2014 season from May 23 through August 31 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed May 16 - May 22 and September 1 - September 29.
  • 173 Scotland Road (Rte. 97), Baltic, 06330
  • Exit 83 off I-395.  Go left, follow Rte. 97 through Baltic.  2 miles north on the left, just past Salt Rock Road.
  • 71 tent and recreational vehicle (RV) sites. Utilities to some sites, bathroom, dumping station, showers, in-ground swimming pool (opens mid June).
  • Two pets/site permitted.
  • Fishing by permit along the Shetucket River with over one mile of waterfront access.  Permits may be obtained at the Salt Rock State Campground office.
  • Nightly Rates for CT residents:
    • $33/night for a tent site
    • $37/night for a site with electricity and water
    • $40/night for a site with electricity, water, and sewer
      plus a Processing Fee
    • Rates for non-CT residents are $45, $48, and $52 per night plus a Processing Fee.
  • Extended Stay Rates for CT residents:
    • $222/ 7-night week tent sites
    • $249/ 7-night week with electric, and water
    • $270/ 7-night week with electric, water, and sewer
      plus a Processing Fee
  • Extended Stay Rates for non-CT residents:

STATE FOREST CAMPING AREAS
AMERICAN LEGION STATE FOREST
The Austin Hawes Campground is open for the season from April 18 through October 12 (daily). NO walk-ins. 
  • West River Road, Pleasant Valley
  • Austin F. Hawes Memorial Campground, midway between Pleasant Valley and Riverton on West River Road. 30 sites in pine woods. Dumping station, bathrooms, showers, fishing. No swimming. One pet/site permitted. Reservations accepted April 21 through Columbus Day.

The Green Falls Campground is open for the 2014 season from April 18 through October 12 (daily). The Mt. Misery Campground is open from April 18 through January 1, 2015 (daily).
  • Voluntown
  • After the Columbus Day weekend no reservations are needed; all sites at Pachaug State Forest are available on a first come, first served basis, free of charge.
  • The campgrounds are located near State lands that are open to hunting {hunting symbol}
  • Two camping areas:
  • Green Falls Campground, off Route 138, 3 miles east of Voluntown. 18 wooded sites. Pond fishing, swimming. One pet/site permitted.
  • Mt. Misery Campground, off route 49, north of Voluntown. 22 wooded sites. Stream fishing, swimming nearby. One pet/site permitted.
HORSE CAMP AREAS
The following campgrounds have been designed exclusively for equestrian use. They open for camping in 2014 on April 18 and close on Thanksgiving. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Camping is offered for riders who can provide their own mounts.  Horse rentals are not available.
NATCHAUG STATE FOREST
  • 109 Kingsbury Road, Eastford
  • Silvermine Horse Camp. 15 wooded sites. Basic facilities only - campers are responsible for cleaning sites and carrying out all trash. Pet permitted. No fee.
