Message to Stakeholders

The Department would like to thank all of the stakeholders who have participated in the process of transforming the State's cleanup laws and regulations with the goal of achieving more cleanups more efficiently and effectively.

As you are aware, the Department released a Draft Outline Report and formed six external workgroups in late September 2012. The six workgroups submitted reports to DEEP on November 20, 2012 with recommendations and questions. The Department greatly appreciates the efforts and time spent by all stakeholders on this complex topic.  In addition, the Department thanks the numerous stakeholders who have submitted comments on the September Draft Outline Report, the six November workgroup reports, as well as comments on the transformation in general.

As you are aware, a more detailed report from the Department is due to the Governor and the Legislature. The Department is in the process of weighing stakeholder recommendations, comments, and questions with a goal of developing a refined and well-balanced proposal. This report is provided in draft form on the Stakeholder Input and Public Participation page. The Department encourages you to submit your feedback in writing or via e-mail through March 18, 2013. Your input will be valuable in shaping this transformation.
