"Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."    Madame Marie Curie

The Radiation Division sets standards for the safe operation of equipment that produces radiation and for the possession, use, storage, transportation and disposal of radioactive material. The Division inspects facilities that use radioactive material, x-ray machines and other radiation producing devices and is responsible for responding to reports of accidents and incidents involving radioactive materials.

In an effort to improve the quality and efficiency of their programs, the Radiation Division has revised their registration process for the Diagnostic and Therapeutic X-Ray Device Program (formerly known as Medical X-Ray Program) and the Radioactive Materials and Industrial X-Ray Device Program (formerly known as Ionizing Radiation Program). Information on each of the registration programs, including new titles and the registration filing process, can be found on the respective web pages listed below. For a quick summary of changes to these programs see "Changes to the State's Radiation Registration Programs".
