Water and Land Use Permits and General Permits

Including Permits for Aquifer Protection, Inland Water Resources, Coastal Permits, (Long Island Sound Programs), and Remediation

Effective October 1, 2013, if an applicant is required by law to publish notice of their permit/license application, the applicant must submit a copy of the published notice and a completed "Certification of Notice" form with their application materials (Public Act 13-209). Applications will not be processed by DEEP if the required notice documents and initial application fee are not included in the application submittal.
 
Application forms and instructions are in the process of being updated to include the new requirements.

Army Corps of Engineers New England District Regulatory/Permitting

The following General Permit for Water Resource Construction Activities replaces the following general permits:  General Permit for Habitat Conservation (DEP-IWRD-003), General Permit for Lakes, Ponds and Basin Dredging (DEP-IWRD-004), General Permit for Placement of Utilities and Drainage (DEP-IWRD-005), General Permit for Minor Structures (DEP-IWRD-006), and General Permit for Minor Grading (DEP-IWRD-007). The Activities that previously received authorization under such permits shall remain authorized for a period of three years from the date of authorization regardless of the expiration of the general permit itself.
