James L. Goodwin Conservation Center:  Seasonal Maintainer
 
Description:  A Seasonal Maintainer position is available at the James L. Goodwin Conservation Center, 23 Potter Rd, Hampton, beginning immediately.  If you enjoy working outdoors, can work independently and are highly motivated and organized, this position would be of interest to you. 
 
Duties:  Performs work related to the maintenance and operation of James L. Goodwin Conservation Center including, but not limited to, mowing, raking, basic tree work, assisting volunteers with garden and trail maintenance, cleaning and janitorial duties, litter pick-up, carpentry and painting. Maintaining a safe and organized workspace and following safety protocol is vital. Use of machinery and power equipment such as lawn mowers, brush cutters, tractors and the use of skills in basic carpentry, plumbing, general building repairs, and grounds maintenance is required. This position may require work in adverse weather conditions and some heavy lifting.
 
Qualifications:  Preferred candidate should have a good working knowledge of basic building maintenance, landscaping and horticulture, strong communication skills, the ability to maintain a safe and organized workspace, customer service and problem-solving skills, organizational skills, ability to work within a team of volunteers and staff. 
 
Minimum Age: 18
 
Special Requirements:  Required to possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
 
Rate of Pay:  Pay rate starts at $10.10 per hour. Positions are 8 months in duration and have a 30 hour work week.
 
Hours:  Normally Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 3:30 PM.  May require evening and weekend work.
