The Commissioner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) hereby gives notice of a public hearing to address issues concerning the applications by NRG Curtailment Solutions, Inc. for permits to construct and operate four natural gas fired generators on ESPNís Main Campus, 935 Middle Street in Bristol, CT. The hearing, to be held on January 7, 2020 is more thoroughly described herein.

DEEP will hold a public hearing on these applications on January 7, 2020 at 6:00 PM in the Russell Room, 3rd floor, at the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection, 79 Elm Street in Hartford, Connecticut.  The public hearing will consist of informational presentations by the parties and the collection of public comment on the record.
The informational hearing will be moderated and recorded by a DEEP hearing officer and will proceed in the following order: presentations from the panel, including the applicant, DEEP, and petitioners; a 15-minute break for informal questions and answers between members of the public and the panel which will not be recorded nor be part of the hearing record; and then the continuation of the informational hearing to receive oral and written comments from members of the public. Comments will be heard in the order in which members of the public sign up at the informational hearing. 
Written comments will be accepted at the public hearing and until the close of business on January 17, 2020, when the hearing record will close. All written comments submitted after January 7, 2020 shall be submitted to Kevin J. OíNeil, Engineering & Enforcement Division of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, 5th Floor, 79 Elm Street, Hartford, Connecticut 06106.
After the hearing record is closed, DEEP staff will prepare a response to comments document and issue their recommendation.
Members of the public should refer to the DEEP Calendar of Events at for the official schedule in this matter, including cancellations, or other schedule alterations. In the event of inclement weather, the hearing will be rescheduled to January 9, 2020 at 6:00 PM in the same location. A decision on whether to postpone the hearing will be made by 3:00 PM on January 7, 2020 and posted to the DEEP calendar of events.
