DEEP Releases Name of Missing Man in Lovers Leap State Park, New Milford
Search Suspended for Today due to Weather Conditions
Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police released the name of the New Milford man that has been reported missing along Lake Lillinonah in Lovers Leap State Park, New Milford. The missing man is Eric Langlois, 33, of New Milford. Mr. Langlois was reported missing by his wife on June 11. She reported that he had fallen off his mountain bike Monday and had gone into the lake, but was able to safely reach shore. She said her husband returned to the lake on Tuesday to see if he could retrieve his bike and did not return home.
EnCon Police, along with members of the New Milford Fire and Police Departments, Bridgewater Fire Department, Connecticut State Police, Newtown Underwater Search and Rescue, Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department, and the Lake Lillinonah Association have been searching Lake Lillinonah and the surrounding shore since Tuesday evening after receiving a report of a man struggling in the water. The search was suspended due to darkness on Wednesday evening and is suspended today due to the inclement weather conditions. The search will resume when weather conditions improve.
