DEEP Makes Arrest for Illegal Hunting

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police today arrested Pah Kae, 22, of Hartford on four counts of illegal hunting.  Kae was charged with one count of Hunting Without a License, one count of Criminal Attempt to Kill a Wild Bird, one count of Illegal Possession of a Wild Bird, and one count of Illegal Carrying of Weapons in a Motor Vehicle.  He was released on a promise to appear in Enfield Superior Court on September 25, 2012.

The arrest occurred following an investigation into a dead osprey recently found in East Granby and other incidents of alleged illegal hunting activity in East Granby and Granby.  EnCon Police were assisted in the investigation by the East Granby Police Department, the Granby Police Department, and the Resident State Trooper.  Kae was not charged in the death of the osprey.
