Biennial Hazardous Waste Report
What is a Hazardous Waste Report?
A Hazardous Waste Report is also known as the "Biennial Report" or "BRS". The Connecticut Hazardous Waste Management Regulations require certain handlers of hazardous wastes to file a report summarizing hazardous waste activity for odd-numbered years.
Reports for 2011 must be submitted to the DEEP by March 1, 2012.
Use of the free web-based Easitrak reporting system is highly recommended. This will reduce your workload and time to complete your report, while also reducing the need for additional tax-supported state resources to process these reports.
Who is required to file a report?
Large Quantity Generators (LQG) and Treatment and Storage & Disposal Facilities (TSDF) are required to file a full report.
Small Quantity Generators (SQG) and Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQG) are not required to file a full report. However, if you receive a report package from the DEEP, you are still classified as an LQG or TSDF in our system. In this case, you must fill out and submit at least the Site Identification Form.
When must the report be submitted?
All reports are due by March 1, 2012. A thirty day extension will be granted to anyone who asks for one by notifying the DEEP in writing before the deadline.
How can I obtain additional forms or assistance?
Additional paper forms and/or assistance is available by contacting Inga Rubecka of the CT DEEP at (860) 424-3566 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Additional information and forms are also available on the federal EPA website.
Where can I obtain previous Biennial Reports?
The federal EPA publishes these reports. To see previous reports, go to the federal EPA website.
