2016 STATE PARK CAMPING AREAS
 
BLACK ROCK STATE PARK
Black Rock Campground is open for the 2016 season from April 8 through May 26 (weekends only) and May 27 through September 4 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed September 5 - September 29.
DEVIL'S HOPYARD STATE PARK
Devil's Hopyard Campground is open for the 2016 season from April 8 through September 4 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed  September 5 - September 29.
HAMMONASSET BEACH STATE PARK 
The Hammonasset Beach Campground is open for the 2016 season from May 27 through October 10 (daily). Reservations are available for periods of stay from Memorial Day weekend through October 10. Walk-ins only from May 20-May 26.
HOPEVILLE POND STATE PARK
Hopeville Pond Campground is open for the 2016 season from May 27 through September 4 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed April 8 - May 26 and September 5 - September 29.

HOUSATONIC MEADOWS STATE PARK
The Housatonic Meadows Campground is open for the 2016 season from May 20 - May 21, then reopening May 27 through September 4. Walk-ins only allowed September 5 October 10. 
5/10/2016: Due to a delay in a construction project, Housatonic Meadows campground will be opening Friday May 27th 2016.

KETTLETOWN STATE PARK
Kettletown Campground is open for the 2016 season on May 20, closing at noon on May 21,  then reopening May 27 through September 4 (daily).  Walk-ins only allowed September 5 - Sept 29.

LAKE WARAMAUG STATE PARK
Lake Waramaug Campground is open for the 2016 season from May 27- September 4 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed  May 20 - May 21 and September 5 - September 30. During the walk-in season, cabins are available on a first come, first served basis on weekends only and check in is at 2 PM and no earlier. 
MACEDONIA BROOK STATE PARK
Macedonia Brook Campground is open for the 2016 season from April 8 through September 4 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed September 5 - September 30.
  • 159 Macedonia Brook Road, Kent
  • 51 sites in rustic setting. Stream fishing, excellent hiking, no swimming. No pets. Reservations accepted April 20 through Labor Day.
  • Alcohol-free campground.  Please do not bring alcoholic beverages.
  • $14/night/campsite for CT residents plus a Processing Fee

The Mashamoquet Brook Campgrounds are open for the 2016 season from May 27 through September 4 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed April 8 - May 26 and September 5 - October 10.
ROCKY NECK STATE PARK
Rocky Neck Campground is open for the 2016 season from May 27 through September 4 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed May 1 - May 26 and September 5 - September 29.
SALT ROCK CAMPGROUND
The Salt Rock Campground is open for the 2016 season from May 27 through September 4 (daily). Walk-ins only allowed May 20 - May 21 and September 5 - September 29.
  • 173 Scotland Road (Rte. 97), Baltic, 06330
  • Exit 83 off I-395.  Go left, follow Rte. 97 through Baltic.  2 miles north on the left, just past Salt Rock Road.
  • 71 tent and recreational vehicle (RV) sites. Utilities to some sites, bathroom, dumping station, showers, in-ground swimming pool (opens mid June).
  • Fishing allowed.
  • Two pets/site permitted.
  • Nightly Rates for CT residents:
    • $33/night for a tent site
    • $37/night for a site with electricity and water
    • $40/night for a site with electricity, water, and sewer
      plus a Processing Fee
    • Rates for non-CT residents are $45, $48, and $52 per night plus a Processing Fee.
  • Extended Stay Rates for CT residents:
    • $222/ 7-night week tent sites
    • $249/ 7-night week with electric, and water
    • $270/ 7-night week with electric, water, and sewer
      plus a Processing Fee

STATE FOREST CAMPING AREAS
AMERICAN LEGION STATE FOREST
The Austin Hawes Campground is open for the 2016 season from April 8 through October 9 (daily). NO walk-ins.  
  • West River Road, Pleasant Valley
  • Austin F. Hawes Memorial Campground, midway between Pleasant Valley and Riverton on West River Road. 30 sites in pine woods. Dumping station, bathrooms, showers, fishing. No swimming. One pet/site permitted. Reservations accepted April 8 through Columbus Day.
  • The campground is located near State lands that are open to hunting {hunting symbol}

  • $27/night/campsite for non-CT residents plus a Processing Fee

The Green Fall Campground is open for the 2016 season from April 8 through October 10(daily). The Mt. Misery Campground is open from April 8 through January 1, 2017 (daily).
  • Voluntown
  • No reservations are needed; all sites at Pachaug State Forest are available on a first come, first served basis.
  • The campgrounds are located near State lands that are open to hunting {hunting symbol}
  • Two camping areas:
  • Green Fall Campground, off Route 138, 3 miles east of Voluntown. 18 wooded sites. Pond fishing, swimming. One pet/site permitted.
  • Mt. Misery Campground, off route 49, north of Voluntown. 22 wooded sites. Stream fishing, swimming nearby. One pet/site permitted.
HORSE CAMP AREAS
The following campgrounds have been designed exclusively for equestrian use. They open for camping in 2016 on April 8 and close on Thanksgiving. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Camping is offered for riders who can provide their own mounts.  Horse rentals are not available.
NATCHAUG STATE FOREST
  • 109 Kingsbury Road, Eastford
  • Silvermine Horse Camp. 15 wooded sites. Basic facilities only - campers are responsible for cleaning sites and carrying out all trash. Pet permitted. No fee.
