  Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police announced that the body of Julius K. Thigpen, D.O.B. 9-1-1965 from Hartford was recovered at approximately 1:30 p.m. today by the State Police Dive Team in Hamburg Cove in the general area where his vessel was located yesterday.

  The new 959 area code is now being introduced in the Connecticut calling region that the 860 area code serves. The supply of telephone numbers in the 860 area code is exhausting because of the continuing demand for telephone numbers, resulting in the opening of the new 959 area code.
12/9/2015PURA Approves Iberdrola Proposal to Acquire UIL Companies
  The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) today issued a final ruling approving a change of control whereby the UIL companies - United Illuminating, the Southern Connecticut Gas Company, and the Connecticut Natural Gas Company - will become subsidiaries of Spain-based Iberdrola.
