  Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police made two arrests last weekend for Boating Under the Influence (BUI) on Candlewood Lake – bringing the total of BUI arrests on that waterbody to four for the season.

  The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) and the Lake Zoar Authority today announced that training is available for people interested in volunteering their time to monitor their local boat launches for the presence of invasive plants and animals, such as zebra mussels.

  The State Mosquito Management Program today announced that mosquitoes trapped in two locations in Stamford on July 14 and 18, 2011 tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV).

  The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) said today that results of genetic tests show that the mountain lion killed in Milford, Conn. in June made its way to the state from the Black Hills region of South Dakota and is an animal whose movements were actually tracked and recorded as it made its way through Minnesota and Wisconsin.
