7/18/2012Notice to Seafood Dealers
  Last week the department issued a press release announcing a new round of studies into lobster population health in Long Island Sound. That release included results of tests for pesticides in the hepatopancreas or tomalley of the lobster that showed trace amounts of methoprene in one of four groups of lobsters and resmethrin in three of four groups. 4/13/2012Notice to Commercial Horseshoe Crab Fishermen
  Regulations of CT State Agencies prohibit the hand-harvest of horseshoe crabs except by those fishermen that meet certain qualifications specified in the regulation. In the past, the Marine Fisheries Division mailed annual Endorsement Letters to eligible fishermen. With the implementation of the new licensing system, endorsement information is now printed on your commercial license and we will no longer be mailing out a separate endorsement letter. (N12-11)
