11/16/2010Notice to Commercial Summer Flounder Fishermen
  Effective 0001 hours, Saturday, November 13, 2010, the possession limit for the commercial harvest of summer flounder is increased to 1,000 pounds. (N10-24)
10/28/2010Commercial Black Sea Bass Closure
  Effective immediately, the Connecticut possession limit for the commercial harvest of black sea bass will be reduced to zero pounds for all gear types. (N10-23)

  Effective 0001 hours Wednesday, October 20, 2010, the Connecticut possession limit for the commercial harvest of black sea bass will be reduced to zero pounds. (N10-22)
10/1/2010Notice to Commercial Scup Fishermen
  Effective immediately the possession limit for the commercial harvest of scup is increased to 300 pounds for all gear types except lobster pots. The possition limit for lobster pots remains 10 fish. (N10-21)

7/20/2010Lobster Meeting Materials Available
  The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission Lobster Management Board will meet at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick, RI on July 22, 2010. The meeting agenda and meeting materials package are available through the DEP web site along with the presentation used at the informational meetings the DEP Marine Fisheries Division held last week. Meeting will be held July 22, 2010 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
6/24/2010National Marine Fisheries Service Announces Sea Turtle Observer Requirement Including LIS Fisheries
  The National Marine Fisheries Service 2010 Annual Determination identified fisheries that will be required to take fishery observers upon NMFS'request to learn more about sea turtle interactions in a given fishery. (N10-13)

  Effective 2010, the Department has revised sport fishing regulations for black sea bass. (N10-10)
5/13/2010Lobster Vent Size Increase Required July 1, 2010
  Effective July 1, 2010, all lobster traps set in Lobster Management Area 6 are required to have a minimum escape vent size of 2 inches by 5-3/4 inches rectangular or 2-5/8 inches circular. (N10-09)

  Reminder: May and June Long Island Sound Survey Sites. This is to remind lobster pot fishermen of the locations of the CT DEP monthly trawl survey sites to be sampled from the R/V John Dempsey.
