Individual and Family Resource Teams
What supports are available through DDS’ Individual and Family Support Resource Teams?
Each Department of Developmental Services (DDS) region has Individual and Family Support Resource Team staff available to provide assistance to individuals with intellectual disability who live on their own or with their families. Individual and Family Support Resource Team Supports include educational supports, transition coordination, behavioral supports, nursing supports, family support, community resource development, and respite. Team members may provide direct support, skill training, family training, information sharing and referral, crisis support, collaboration with local school districts and agencies, and community development. Each region has two resource teams that include the following staff: family support workers, one or more behaviorists and/or psychologists, a nurse, an educational liaison, a transition coordinator. This service is offered based upon availability of staff resources to meet individual and family needs.
Who is eligible to receive supports from the region’s Individual and Family Support Resource Team?
Individuals who at home on their own or with their family are eligible for assistance from the Individual and Family Support Resource Team. Your case manager can refer you to your local resource team for needed services.
