About the Liquor Control Division

{photo of liquor control badge} The mission of the Liquor Control Division is to protect the health and safety of Connecticut citizens by regulating all persons and firms involved in the distribution, sale, and dispensing of alcoholic liquor, in order to prevent sales to minors and intoxicated persons, guarantee product integrity, and ensure that licensed premises are safe and sanitary.

The Division is the primary state regulatory agency responsible for enforcing Title 30 (The Connecticut Liquor Control Act) and its corresponding regulations, and serves as the primary investigative arm of the Connecticut Liquor Control Commission.

The Division regularly provides training to local and state police officers regarding the enforcement of Title 30.  Particular emphasis is placed on strategies that discourage underage drinking.
