Identifying and Working with Parents who Have Cognitive Limitations

TIME:  8:30 a.m. Registration;  Training begins  at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m.

LOCATION:  Naugatuck Community College, Ekstrom Hall, Room E315

PLEASE NOTE:  Naugatuck Valley Community College does not permit food or drinks in their classrooms. Thank you for your cooperation


AUDIENCE:  Anyone who works with parents

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  Discussion will include:

  • Implications of limitations in functioning
  • Behavior and assessment
  • Impact on children
  • Ways to help families

FEE:  All sessions are free

LUNCH:  one-hour lunch is "on your own."

There’s a restaurant right on Chase Parkway.  (Spartans) not even 2 minutes away.

There’s a Subway in the CVS plaza that is 2 minutes from the College on West Main St.  There is another restaurant named Maggie McFly’s that is about 5 minutes away, and then on Thomaston Ave. which is also about 5 minutes away, there’s a McDonalds, Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Wendy’s.

On Watertown Ave, which is about 7 minutes away, there is a Frankies hot dog stand, that serves all kinds of burgers and seafood.
