Identifying and Working with Parents who have Cognitive Limitations

TRAINERS: CT Parents with Cognitive Limitations Workgroup

LENGTH OF TRAINING:  8 hours

CEU's:  Are available for nurses and social workers, upon request.

TIME:  8:30 a.m. Registration;  Training begins  at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m.

AUDIENCE:  Anyone, including supervisors, who works with parents

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  Discussion will include:

  • Executive Functioning
  • Implications of limitations in functioning
  • Behavior and assessment
  • Impact on children
  • Effective strategies

FEE:  All sessions are free

LUNCH:  one-hour lunch is "on your own."

Directions for PARKING at SOLNIT-South Campus:  Upon entering Solnit South's campus, please take the first road on your right, make your first left (directly across from the Silvermine/Pueblo building) and park in the upper lot.  Do not enter through the front of the Pueblo/Silvermine building,  Instead walk on the sidewalk to the left of the main door and use that entrance.  The entrance has an accessible ramp.  Please be sure to bring identification.

 
Registration Process" for Providers:

Step 1:  Create a "Log in Profile/User ID" and a password.  (Select "Guest" for a user category)  NOTE: You will only need to create a log-in and user ID just once;  the first time you register for a course.  Please write down your user ID and Password and store in a safe place.

Step 2:  Register for the PWCL Meeting
