The Invisible War - Investigative Documentary

In honor of

{Sexual Assualt Awareness Month}

The Women's Center of Greater Danbury presents

DATE: Thursday, April 25,

TIME:  7:00-9:00 p.m.

LOCATION:  The Palace Danbury, 165 Main Street, Danbury , CT

In this ground breaking investigative documentary and 2012 Sundance Film Festival winner, director Kirby Dick explores the epidemic of rape within the U.S. military; female soldiers in combat zones today are more likely to be raped by fellow servicemen than attacked by the enemy. The Department of Defense estimates that 19,000 assaults go unreported every year; in 2011, less than 8% of the 3,192 reported rapes were prosecuted. The startling picture painted in this film through survivor stories and interviews with military leadership is a call to action for change.
