2013 CAFAP Conference: Putting the Pieces Together: Working with and Raising Traumatized Children

NOTE:  There are two separate conferences.  Please feel free to attend one or both. The conferences are free but registration is required.

  • The impact of grief and loss issues
  • The impact of sensory issues
  • Specific behaviors and sensory based interventions

PRESENTED BY:  Kathi Legare, LCSW.  Kathi is a graduate of the Smith College School for Social Work.  She has worked with foster and adoptive families for the better part of thirty years including raising seven children, six of whom are adopted. Beyond her work in training and supporting foster and adoptive parents she spent five years on a child abuse investigative team where she was the Clinical Social Worker and then the Forensic Interviewer.  She also spent almost ten years as Program Director in charge of the programming and clinical work for a residential treatment center and several group homes. She works with parents, schools and day care centers to help with behavioral management of traumatized children who are unable to manage their emotions using sensory based interventions.
