Social Worker Careers at DCF
Social Workers with the Department of Children and Families are employed at one of our 15 Area Offices and at our Central Office. Social Workers perform a variety of skilled case work services for children and youth; maintain medical, physical, social and psychological histories; counsel families, children and youth both individually and in groups; investigate, evaluate and make recommendations for Juvenile Court on all petitions alleging neglect or abuse of children; recruit and select foster and adoptive homes for placement of children; consult with psychologists, psychiatrists and other staff to develop and administer treatment plans; and consult with community groups to determine appropriate referrals and develop community resources.
