State Announces Series of Public Meetings on Draft Connecticut State Water Plan
  What water issues are Connecticut residents most concerned about? How does Connecticut’s economy benefit from our available water resources? How do Connecticut residents’ attitudes toward conservation stack up against other states? Does the State appropriately acknowledge the various needs for water such as drinking water supply, economic development, and ecological needs? The state’s Water Planning Council (WPC) today announced a series of public meetings to be held around the state in order to solicit input from residents and interested parties on the state’s first ever State Water Plan.

National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, Oct. 22-28 DPH Urges Parents to Test Young Children for Lead, Know and Fix Lead Hazards around Your Home
  The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), along with the U.S. Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), recognizes National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (NLPPW) October 22-28.

MOLST Program Now Available Statewide Giving Frail Elderly, Chronically Ill More Control Over Their End-Of-Life Care
  The State Department of Public Health (DPH) today announced it has launched a statewide Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (MOLST) program, that gives patients approaching the end stage of a serious life limiting illness or who are in a condition of chronic progressive frailty the ability to choose the medical treatments for their end-of-life care.

Voluntary Recall Notice Announced on Medical Device Commonly Used to Deliver Overdose Reversal Medicine
  Teleflex Medical has issued a voluntary recall of LMA MAD Intranasal Mucosal Atomization Device. This device is commonly used to deliver naloxone, a life‐saving drug used in the event of a suspected drug overdose. The device is also used to administer medication for life‐threatening hypoglycemia and epileptic seizures.
