| Connecticut State Forests |
| Many years ago the State of Connecticut initiated a forest land purchase program for watershed and stream protection and to have a demonstration area where private persons could see how to manage their forest land. The program has expanded over the years to include open space protection and production of a variety of forest products ranging from chips to saw-timber for local industry and for State use. The State also operates a cordwood cutting program available to Connecticut citizens. In addition to protection of land and forest production, the state forests provide extensive recreational opportunities. |
