6/17/2009VA Opens Enrollment to More Veterans
  Priority Group 8 Enrollment Relaxation Changes VA eligibility rules changed on June 15, 2009, making it easier for more Veterans to enroll in VA’s health care system. Under this new regulation, VA relaxed income restrictions on enrollment for health benefits. While this new provision does not remove consideration of income, it does increase income thresholds.

  “Colonel Nett served bravely and honorably throughout his distinguished career. His contributions to his fellow soldiers and community are the hallmarks of dedication. Connecticut is justifiably proud of this native son. He was inducted into the state Veterans Hall of Fame last year and the leadership hall at Camp Rell bears his name. Our deepest sympathies go out to the Nett family along with our gratitude for his lifetime of valor and service.

C. and Maryland military hospitals

  Since October 2005, the Operation Gift Cards monthly visits have presented 5,050 "Thank You Kits" which contained $101,000 in gift certificates to our wounded.

  Governor M. Jodi Rell announced today that in a change of recent policy, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (USVA) will soon be mailing disability verification letters required for local property tax relief to Connecticut’s 22,000 veterans after all.
