Statement State’s Attorney Stephen J. Sedensky III

Stephen J. Sedensky III, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Danbury, announced today that he will not seek Appellate Court review of the Superior Court decision denying his application for a stay of the release of recordings of the 911 calls to the Newtown Police Department on December 14, 2012.

Sedensky said that “After consultation with the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney and the attorney for the Town of Newtown who is a party to the appeal in the Superior Court, we have decided not to pursue an appeal on the denial of the application for a stay.”

The release of the recordings will be administered by the attorneys for the Town of Newtown.
