PUBLIC INTEGRITY TOLL-FREE HOTLINE (24 hours)
1-888-742-2726 (All calls kept confidential). The Financial Crimes Bureau in the Office of the Chief State's Attorney is responsible for the investigation and prosecution of cases of corruption at all levels of state and local government in Connecticut. The mission is clear and simple: to pursue cases of government malfeasance wherever the evidence leads. Attorneys and inspectors investigate and prosecute public officials who abuse their offices as well as public employees who commit crimes against the agencies they serve. Our agency also investigates complaints against individuals outside of the government who are involved in governmental functions. These areas include voter fraud and other violations of the election laws. In addition to information provided by the public or other units within the Division of Criminal Justice, public integrity investigations can be initiated on the basis of information referred by other agencies that oversee matters of public concern. These agencies include the Office of the Attorney General, the Office of State Ethics and the State Elections Enforcement Commission.
