The following reports are submitted to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to criminal justice and appropriations and the budgets of state agencies, pursuant to Section 40 (h) of Public Act 08-01. These reports provide the status of the design and implementation of the information technology system, commonly referred to as the CJIS Information Sharing System. Beginning with July 1, 2008, and January first and July first of each year thereafter, these reports are prepared by the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Governing Board and its Executive Director.
In conjunction with the report submitted not later than January first of each year, the board is responsible for making a presentation to these legislative committees during their regular session concerning the status of the design and implementation of such information technology system and a specific itemization of additional resources, if any, that are needed to achieve such design and implementation.
