November Rescission
  Just three months into the new fiscal year, Governor M. Jodi Rell today ordered $34,076,998 in state budget cuts, exercising her power under state law to trim expenditures at Executive Branch agencies, boards and commissions to reduce a projected state budget deficit of nearly $400 million.

State Bond Commission Releases Funds for New Haven Regional Fire School
  At their October meeting the State Bond Commission released $4,108,932 in funding for renovations and expansion of the New Haven Regional Fire School.

2009 Seminar Series
  The final 2009 Seminar Series presentation will be Friday December 4, 2009. The subject will be Think Like an Incident Commander presented by Deputy Chief Thomas Dunne FDNY dealing with Fireground staffing, tactics, geography and construction. An analysis of the specific tactical and strategic challenges will be used in regards to strip mall fires during the presentation. The Seminar Series will be held at the Connecticut Fire Academy.

  The Connecticut Fire Academy in cooperation with the National Fire Academy present three companion Executive Skills Series Courses through the National Fire Academy’s off campus deliveries program.

Entry-Level Training Reimbursement
  Funding has been restored for the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control administered Entry-Level Training Reimbursement Program.

CFPC Administered Supplemental Grant Award Program
  Letters announcing the FY2010 Supplemental Grant Award Program administered by the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control were mailed to eligible volunteer fire companies on September 9th. Local volunteer fire companies that provide emergency response services on state limited access highways are eligible for this grant.
