2012 AFG Workshop & Webinar Schedule
  DHS/FEMA Region 1 in Boston has notified the Connecticut Fire Academy that they have finalized their 2012 AFG Workshop/Webinar schedule.

2012 Seminar Series
  A second installment of the Seminar Series Command and Control of Maydays for the Incident Commander is scheduled for Friday May 18, 2012. The seminar is presented by Battalion Chief George Healy from FDNY. The flyer and application are also available for the Friday June 8, 2012 Seminar titled Tricks of the Trade presented by Battalion Chief Stuart Grant from Dallas Texas Fire Rescue.

USFA Releases Residential Building Fires (2008-2010) Topical Report
  The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) announces the release of a special report focusing on the causes and characteristics of fires in residential buildings. The report, Residential Building Fires (2008-2010) (PDF, 321 Kb), was developed by USFA's National Fire Data Center. Residential buildings include what are commonly referred to as "homes," whether they are one- or two-family dwellings or multifamily buildings. It also includes manufactured housing, hotels and motels, residential hotels, dormitories, assisted living facilities, and halfway houses.
