The University of Connecticut Fire Department with locations in Farmington and in Storrs, is seeking candidates for the position of Protective Services Trainee (Fire) sometimes referred to as an Entry-level Firefighter position. Successful candidates will be responsible for taking a prescribed formal academic and on-the-job training course in firefighting, emergency medical services, and hazardous materials response. Upon successful completion of training and probationary requirements, Protective Services Trainees will be eligible for appointment to the position of Firefighter.

 In order to be considered for this position, a written examination will be held on December 21st, 2017 at the UConn Storrs Campus. More details regarding time and exact location will be provided at a further date. There will be no make-up examination date and no refunds - you must plan accordingly.

The Town of Sturbridge, MA is accepting applications for the position of full-time fire-fighter / paramedic. The Department is looking to fill one current vacancy. The minimum qualifications include certification as a National Registry EMT – Paramedic, and as a Firefighter I/II.

The Southington Fire Department will accept applications for a hiring list of entry level Firefighter/EMT from December 4, 2017, at 12:00, through January 12, 2018 at 12:00. All completed application packages must be submitted to Southington Fire Headquarters, 310 North Main St., Southington, CT 06489 during the administrative office hours, Monday – Friday 08:00-15:30. Mailed applications must be postmarked on or before the closing date.


There is a non-refundable application fee of $50.00. Payments must be in the form of cash or money order payable to MRI. No personal checks will be accepted. The test is limited to the first 75 qualified applicants. The exam is scheduled for February 17, 2018.
