CEN: CEN Seminar on Firewall Rules and Theory

CEN Seminar on Firewall Rules and Theory

On March 10th and 11th we will be leading a “round table” style seminar focusing on the basics of firewall rules and theory.  These seminars are going to be capped at 20 participants per session to allow for greater discussion and manageability.  This session is targeted to those districts that are currently outsourcing their firewall support or lack formal training and would like to expand their knowledge of the subject.  This is not a vendor-specific or platform-specific seminar.  The focus on theory of firewall rules is meant to develop the attendees' understanding of the how and why of making firewall rules and their anticipated impacts on network traffic flow.  Even with the smaller sessions, we will not be equipped to address any platform-specific configuration issues you may be currently experiencing.  However the “round table” discussion format will allow for the transfer of knowledge between fellow attendees who may have valuable relevant information.

In addition to CEN, the University of Connecticut will also be represented as a resource and assistance for the sessions.

As we are capping the sessions to 20 participants for each session (and both sessions are the same topic), we request that each district only RSVP a maximum of two (2) representatives and ONLY if you are certain you intend to attend.
