Supporting Arts in Place Program
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING FY18 ARTS GRANTS: As reported in the news, the Governor and the General Assembly have adopted a state budget. Final decisions regarding FY18 grants will be made in the near future.
The following grant programs remain on hold: Supporting Arts in Place, Arts Projects, Regional Initiative, Arts Learning and Artist Fellowship.
Supporting Arts in Place awards matching grants to eligible arts organizations and municipal art departments to strengthen the state's non-profit arts industry. Applicants do not request specific grant amounts. All eligible applicants to the Supporting Arts in Place category receive an award*. Awards are determined by mathematical formula that considers the following factors:
Available funds (allocated to the Supporting Arts in Place category);
Total number of applicants;
Calculations generated from the aggregate data collected
Eligible applicants include:
Ineligible applicants include:
Organizations whose primary legal purpose is not arts-based
Organizations whose primary purpose is educational or instructional (e.g. schools, libraries, colleges, etc.)
Organizations whose primary purpose is to receive contributions for, or provide funding to, other organizations. Such ineligible organizations include, but are not limited to, organizations determined to be tax-exempt under section 509 of the Internal Revenue Code.
Organizations who applied during the same period to any FY18 Connecticut Office of the Arts grant program, with the exception of Education – Access and Arts Endowment.
