Anne L. Elvgren  {Photo of Anne Elvgren}
Anne Elvgren of Farmington is president of Elvgren Associates LLC, a marketing and public relations firm. Working primarily with law firms, accounting firms and nonprofits, she provides a full range of business development consulting services. She is an active member of the Hartford region’s business community, with involvement in the CBIA and MetroHartford Alliance. In addition to her service with the Connecticut Culture and Tourism Advisory Committee, she is a trustee and executive committee member of the Mark Twain House & Museum in Hartford and member of the marketing committee for The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts.

Hans Hartman
{Photo of Hans Hartman} Hans Hartman has been in the Entertainment Industry since 1968. Starting out as a child actor, Hans has worked in almost every stage of the production process.  In 1978, Hans started working behind the camera. Because he has worked in almost every department on Film and Television production, Hans has a very unique perspective when producing. A graduate of Mitchell College, Hans taught 35mm filmmaking a prestigious Collage in Florida and created “The Young Filmmaker’s Workshop” in Orlando, FL.  Hans has directed and produced over 100 commercials, videos, industrials and films in his career.  In 2002, Hans formed a new production company to focus on film and digital cinema called H2Films. Hans brings all his years of experience to H2Films and has completed several films under that banner. These include: Shadow Raven: Fading Thoughts, Heist, Apart From This, The Raven, Rehab and Crippled Creek and PROFILE, a powerful political film about terrorism and interrogations. He is now bringing a $350,000,000 film fund to Connecticut and will produce three feature films in 2013. Hans was appointed to the DECD Advisory Board by Larry Cafero.

Fritz Jellinghaus
{Photo of Fritz Jellinghaus} As a consultant, senior executive and board member, Fritz Jellinghaus has had a 40-year career fundraising for leading arts, cultural and educational organizations, as well as advising major corporations on corporate social responsibility and cultural marketing.  Jellinghaus is currently Vice President of Development at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme. Prior to joining the College, he was Director of Leadership Giving at SteppingStonesMuseum for Children in Norwalk. He was the founder and president of several consulting businesses, including Jellinghaus & Associates, Inc., a New York City and Chester, Connecticut, marketing/fundraising consulting firm that developed and promoted alliances between business and cultural/educational organizations. He is President Emeritus of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County and a member of the steering committee to establish the Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, he was a three-term appointee of the Connecticut Speaker of the House to the state Commission on the Arts. He has been a board member of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, the Science Center of Connecticut, the Palm Beach County Cultural Task Force, and the Westport Arts Center.

As a member of the Cultural & Tourism Advisory Committee, Renny brings over twenty years of experience in different facets of the Connecticut tourism industry. She served as a board member, public relations director and commissioner.

Throughout these years, she developed expertise in media relations. Her keen observation, sense of humor and ability to see things from different perspectives provided information needed to pitch unique story ideas to travel writers resulting in print and electronic media featuring Connecticut and New England.

Whether it’s freelancing, consulting or volunteering, Renny always strives to make a positive contribution through creative commitment to the task. She serves on the board of Land Trust West Haven, the West Haven Energy Commission and continues doing freelance writing and volunteering as a Master Gardener.  Renny lives with her husband in West Haven. Their son, his wife and two children live in Massachusetts.

Lawrence McHugh
{Photo of Larry McHugh} Lawrence McHugh currently serves as President of the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce since 1983.  Under his skillful leadership, the membership of the chamber increased from 282 to 2,450 active members that employ over 50,000 people in various industry sectors across Connecticut.   Appointed to the Connecticut State University Board of Trustees in 1983, he has been reappointed by five Governors and most recently Governor Dannel Malloy who reappointed him Chairman of the UConn Board of Trustees. 

He serves as a member on the Department of Economic and Community Development’s Culture and Tourism Advisory Board, and other boards and commissions in both the public and private sector.

The chamber has been recognized and received numerous prestigious awards from national organizations and associations, including the President’s White House Citation for Private Sector Initiatives.  

He lives in Middletown with his wife Patricia.  He has three (3) sons – Larry Jr., Sean, Michael, and two (2) precious granddaughters

Michael P. Price, Chair

{Photo of Michael Price} Michael Price is now in his 44th year as Executive Director of Goodspeed Musicals.  Mr. Price is the founder of the League of Historic American Theatres and served as its first president.  He is founding member of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, Treasurer of the American Theatre Wing and is a member of the Tony Awards Management Committee.    Of the 16 Goodspeed productions sent to Broadway, 15 were first produced at Goodspeed by Michael.  Michael serves on the Board of the Johnny Mercer Foundation.  He serves on boards of the Foundation for Jewish Culture and the Union for Reformed Judaism.  Michael is a recipient of the State of Connecticut Arts Award for service to the arts, and serves as the chairman of the Connecticut Culture and Tourism Advisory Committee as well as a member of the Connecticut Arts Advisory Council.  He is the recipient of honorary doctorates in fine arts, honoriscausa, from Connecticut College and the University of Hartford.  Michael is married to Jo-Ann Nevas Price, has two children and is the proud grandfather of Ezra William Price.

Will K. Wilkins
{Photo of Wil Wilkins} Will K. Wilkins is the Executive Director of Real Art Ways, one of the country’s leading contemporary arts organizations. Real Art Ways is a place for art, ideas and social interaction, with programs in visual art, cinema, and performing arts.  Among the highlights of Mr. Wilkins' tenure has been a series of commissioned projects, many in public settings and involving community participation. Real Art Ways is a strong supporter of artists’ rights and freedom of expression.

Dr. Walter W. Woodward, State Historian*
Walter W. Woodward is the state historian of Connecticut and an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Connecticut. He is the fifth person to hold the position of state historian, which was created in the 1930s in preparation for Connecticut’s 300th Anniversary. Woodward is a scholar of early American and Atlantic world history, specializing in New England and Connecticut. He has written numerous articles on subjects ranging from witchcraft in Connecticut, to the use of music by missionaries on the colonial frontier. His book Prospero’s America: John Winthrop, Jr., Alchemy and the Creation of New England Culture 1606-­1676 was published by the University of North Carolina press this year. Woodward received his Ph.D. with Distinction from the University of Connecticut in 2001. He obtained his Master’s Degree in history from Cleveland State University, and his BA in English from the University of Florida. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Massachusetts Historical Society, the American Antiquarian Society, the Huntington Library in San Marino California, the Yale Center for Religion in American Life, and the John Carter Brown Library in Providence.

Ted Yudain
{Photo of Ted Yudain} Ted Yudain is a practicing attorney and actor. First appointed to the Connecticut Commission on the Arts in the late 1990’s, he served at various times as its treasurer and its vice-chair. After the commission’s merger with the commissions on tourism, history, culture and film, he served as chair of the Arts Committee, a post he continued until the committee’s replacement by the Connecticut Arts Council.  He has served on the boards, and as president, of non-profit theater organizations, and currently chairs the board of a non-profit theatre in Stamford.  He resides in Stamford with his actress wife.
