The Commission on Child Protection and the position of the Chief Child Protection Attorney were established by the legislature in June of 2005.  The intent of the legislation is to ensure the provision of quality legal representation and guardian ad litem services to children and indigent parents involved in child protection matters in Juvenile and Family courts.

The website was created to assist attorneys who provide legal and guardian ad litem services to children and indigent parents with a means for developing and increasing their knowledge of matters related to child protection and for enhancing their advocacy skills. 

It is the hope of the Commission that this website will become a valuable resource for the dissemination of information related to the complex area of legal advocacy in child protection cases.
